003

Hello, i hope there still are a few people following this after the days of no news on this blog.
i'll get you all back up to date with a few posts at the same time.

Lets start with last friday:

Breakfast has become the habbit of having Onigiri (rijstballen, riceballs, raaiskügln oder zowas...)

Today, (friday) i had an appointment at Tezuka-architects office, so i left early and went to explore the area before going to the meeting.
Route transfers: Nerima-Kasugacho - Yoyogi - Shibuya - Naka-meguro - Jiyugaoka - Todoroki

To get there i needed to take a transfer between subway system and a private railline, all of these payed with the Passmo except the JR-line
Passmo = some kind of value card for Tokyo area public transport.
The line transfer took place in Jiyugaoka so i made use of that stop to get out en check it out... because eventualy thats why i'm here.
Jiyugaoka has some nice streets and feels like a normal sized Belgian city on its own, except that its in Tokyo...
Because is arranged the meeting at 14:00 i had time to lunch in Jiyugaoka and go to the office pretty relaxed.

At Todoroki station i made my way to the office, walking through a surpising park.

Tezuka's office is located on the third floor of this building.

Do you see that silver thing on the ground? she asked. well thats where people sleep...

Mr Tezuka himself was not present at the time, but i had the chance to talk with the people there, and see some work in progres.
They introduced me to a few new projects to, like a facility for hospitalised cancer-kids,
here the family can live together inside the hospital (basic concept was to bring the home feeling back to the kids).
Some projects i was not allowed to take pictures so obviously i respected that.

The visit was pretty short, but they gave me something to do.
I got informed about 2 projects by Shigeru Ban in the area that i could go see.

So, here they are:

This one is a house, located about 15 minutes walk from the office.

This girl came out together with her grandmother, and i asked her about the building,
she was excited i "knew" it was Shigeru Ban's.
I shot some details to, but i don't feel like posting them.

and this is a bar/cafe, unfortunatly closed, otherwise i would have gotten some Asahi there or so.
pretty cool fact is that this is located in Jiyugaoka, so i knew how to get there and where the street was.
i don't think i need to discribe the projects a lot more, they where worth seeing, the rest figures... right?

Interesting buildings are virtualy everywhere, just like the skinny legs and high heels,
so i decided to enjoy them mostly, and not photograph them all.
Ow, and Japanese have a damn good taste when it comes to mathers of transportation, both public transport and private...

I've got something for younger people who still study... or those who want to teach.
This is probably the greatest schoolbuilding in the world.

yakitori, sashimi, vegetables, sushi, squid, spicy french fries, beer, sake, name it, it was all there..
Thank you for this wonderful dinner.
