Woke up at 6.30 today, and after a healthy breakfast prepared by a nutrition expert (Yuki's mom) i left to Ueno station.
Today i left Tokyo and went to my next big stop.
Osaka
I needed to go to Tokyo station instead of Ueno to get the Shinkansen - (Hikari-type) and yes thats the one that looks like a mig-28.
There where a few stops before Osaka but the ride was furiously fast,
altough sometimes when there are gentle slopes and you are paying attention to it you are getting a little bit lifted from your seat...
kind of like driving over a speedbump at 300km/h.
Kneespace is about 60 to 70cm, so also big people have good comfort.
The landscape flashing by was to nice to capture decently in one picture...so i made a few full-HD video's on the way to Osaka.
Shinkansen dragrace :p
I arrived at Shin-Osaka at 12.30 exact.
I went to the visitor information centre (no tourist information centre...) and asked some info:
- city map
- public transport info
- Castle opening hours
- Ryokan info
so i booked a ryokan from here thanks to the help of another very helpful Japanese woman.
I decided to stay at the same place in Osaka for 4 nights, since i've got this giant bag thats not realy helping for exploring the city.
I'll leave it inside and only take the necessary like i did in Tokyo, and probably will do in Kyoto to.
this place is awsome, i'm glad i chose this ryokan. 4th floor magical Washitsu.
The only thing missing is
is
well yea, that figures i guess.
i arrived in this room and there was a ice-cooled 2 liters of tea waiting for me and 4 sets of slippers...
So i guess this room can handle more people, and i got lucky to get it like this.
Price for one night is normaly 7500 Yen
i got it for 21000 for 4 nights (5250/night).
A 20 euro reduction per night is not bad for a room that can fit 5 people :p
definetly when i get a veranda on the 4th floor with a great view for that price.
Washitsu size: 7,5 tatami ((+-2,7 x 4,5cm) not including picture recess and closets)
Bathroom size: 1,5 x 2m
Genkan size: 1,5 x 1,5m
Veranda size: 1,5 x 3,5m
i dropped of my stuff, took some pictures to show it already, and went to get some diner:
fishballs (shrimp + octopus + ...) i think i'm going to have these for lunch to tomorrow, they're good.
When i came back into my room they prepared hot tea for me and the bed was made.
The sky sais welcome to Osaka, the first drops of refreshing rain bring peace to the never sleeping cities of Japan.
the view from the veranda, a great in between space in this case
and this key.
If my key would go outside together with the front desk i should go find them and tell them to go home again...
Probably this key has been naughty before, thats why they give me the warning like this.
