011

Today i made my way from Osaka to Kyoto.
I took the Shinkansen at 10.13 and little time later i was standing on a Kyoto station platform.
This time the window seet was mine.. hehe :D

I arrived in a very busy Kyoto because of the Gion festival.
Since i didn't have any reservations made for a place to stay i went to the visitors information centre like i did in Osaka,
and this way found another nice ryokan to stay for a few days while i'm here.

The price is a bit more expencive then the one in Osaka and has no private bathroom.
But instead i'm staying on the 1st floor (2nd in Japanese way of calculating),
and there's this awsome entrance scene, i tried to capture it on picture but i'll give it another try later.

Kyoto station by Hiroshi Hara and opened in 1997, damn impressive building!
The stairs and structures keep on going.

My arrival lunch at the station:
tempura with rice and a miso soup

Kyoto tower (waiting for my visit to the top).

Toyota

I decided to start my Kyoto experience by finding a tabi store,
but once there i didn't buy them, the sizes where wrong, smaller is a lot to small, and bigger is a lot to big...
in no way i could use these, although i still love these shoes :p

So i bought something else, a classical Japanese shirt, picture will follow but it already served its purpose.

my first useful purchase in Japan:
Awsome genius triangle and a pen.

a few pictures of the festival:

super Kyoto metrocop, always ready for heavy duty riots :)
just in case i guess...

temple by night view, tomorrow i'll go check it during the day.
